Tyrur Enda can get off to a flier

THE 2011 Pat Hennerty Sales Irish Laurels gets underway at Curraheen Park tonight and it’s fitting that reigning champ Tyrur Enda should set the ball rolling in the first heat.

PJ Fahy’s dog has had his injury problems, but his recent trial here suggests he’s still capable of a big run and, given that the draw could hardly have been more kind, he should make a winning start to the defence of his title.

With the slow-starting Croom Upper drawn inside him, Tyrur Enda should be able to take control along the rails and it’ll be a shade disappointing if he cannot convert this opportunity.

The danger will surely come from Pablo Supreme, who was a semi-finalist here last year.

Owen McKenna’s dog showed that he retains all of his old ability when running second behind Colorful Champ at Shelbourne Park on Derby final night. However, he’s drawn the wrong side of Tyrur Enda and will likely have to come from behind the selection if he’s to cause a minor upset.
