Jet to win early battle
This is not strictly a two-dog race but Curraheen is conducive to dogs with exceptional early dash and these two fit the bill better than their opponents. Leeview Jet was not primed for his recent return to the track but he impressed with a stunning display of early pace that left his rivals toiling.
It may be a little tougher to outstrip Sede Vacante in the trapping department but, at this stage of their careers, Leeview has achieved much more than has his opponent and his early speed is second to none. Were they drawn in reverse then he would likely be an odds-on shot to successfully continue his Laurels preparations but punters should not be deterred and he rates a nap selection to make his superior experience count.
Tralee track record holder Deerfield Sings must be respected but it should be noted that he achieved his new figure in A2 company and had his limitations exposed in the Derby. The wide draw also is not ideal here and he'll need to turn in an exceptional performance to trouble the principals.
Priceless Chef can work as the benchmark by which the race can be measured. Paul Hennessy's dog has plenty of ability - he recorded 28.33 in victory here last year - and remains capable of producing a big run.
A lack of early pace often proves a hindrance but, if the more fancied runners under-perform, he's the one most likely to take advantage.
