Mumhan Aris can capitalise on better draw

MUMHAN ARIS can turn the tables on his semi-final conqueror, Oakfront Aga, to land the Guinness Trophy final at Curraheen Park tonight.

Mumhan Aris can capitalise on better draw

Sent off favourite last week, Mumhan Aris was none too clever at the break when failing by four and a half lengths to reel in Aga in 28.84.

Previously successful in 29.09 and 29.12, Mumhan Aris has plenty in his favour tonight.

Drawn in trap three, he looks set to lead the inside pair and grab hold the rails position on the run to the first corner.

In contrast, the bang-in-form Oakfront Aga looks up against it from a trap six draw.

Although a winner of five of his six starts this year, including twice from trap five, Oakfront Aga could struggle to clear Paid Paddy who has veered wide at the opening bend in recent weeks.

In what promises to be a thrilling final showdown, Mumhan Aris reads the percentage bet.

The in-form and well drawn Compass King gets the vote in the Fitzgerald Brothers Victuallers 550 final.

The Stephen Wadsworth trained tracker was always in control when completing a hat-trick in 30.52 last week and an inside draw is another plus.

Vieri Free rattled home when making it two from two in the stake in 30.61 last time and should again be involved at the finish.

Rediscover can add to recent gains in the first semi-final of the DSI Nationwide Fundraising Event A3 Stake. Tom O’Neill’s runner showed her rivals a clean pair of heels when carding 29.17 in the heats and should take a deal of pegging back from an improved inside slot.

Notabodderboy, in front for a long way before losing out by the narrowest of margins in 29.16, rates the obvious danger.

Iroko Suzie and Aghaburren River look a likely pair in the second semi-final with the former, who has the best of the draw, given preference.
