Takeover twaddle rumbles on again

NOW that’s how you start a season. Almost. Some of us are yet to acclimatise after summer hibernation. With a dreary World Cup failing to deflect attention away from inevitable squabbles about our managerial shortcomings (past and present) and a player exodus still not materialising, we’re suddenly blinded by new term’s glare.

When thoughts should have turned to y’know, The Match, that hoary old insignificance, the Kenny & Kirdi Circus rolled into town with all the noise and sinisterness that portends. For all the suspicions surrounding our not-so-short-term-as-we’d-like chairman and his Chelseaness he’s kept his word that he would make announcements about any takeover news; would that others had been so silent...

Kirdi’s connection with the gruesome twosome automatically crossed him off the fans’ list, his ‘bid’ having huge comedic potential were it not for the chance of the guffaws catching in the throat if he succeeded.
