Unlikely heroes make Fergie proud

I DON’T often get cause to mention it but I’ve always had a soft spot for Park, one of nature’s real triers who’s never caused the club the slightest bit of grief.

When he signed for us, I nominated him here a few weeks later as the best transfer deal of that summer and, given how ridiculously cheap he was and the level of performance he has repeatedly produced in big games, that prediction’s stood up very well. He’s on a tremendous little run at the moment, and his applied bravery in the face of Johnson’s potentially decapitatory boot for Sunday’s scousebuster merited every second of the ovation he received.
