Irish can shock English in Belfast, says coach Simmons

IRELAND coach Phil Simmons is convinced Ireland can pull off a shock win when Ireland meet England at Stormont at the end of August.

That may seem fanciful to some, coming on the day England beat Australia to go 1-0 up in the Ashes series, but the big West Indian is adamant in his conviction.

“It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we can beat England. We’ve beaten stronger teams than them in the past, and have the players capable of winning on the day. We target every game for a win, and we now have a talented, experienced squad.”
