Murray benefits from Robredo injury

ANDY MURRAY advanced to the quarter-finals of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells after opponent Tommy Robredo retired with an injury.

The Spaniard suddenly called a halt to proceedings complaining of trouble with his wrist in the second set, with Murray 6-2 3-0 up.

The Scot had been firmly in control and will be grateful for the opportunity to rest ahead of his quarter-final with the winner of the Igor Andreev and Ivan Ljubicic match.
