Superstores final 1-2 for Wadsworth

STEPHEN Wadsworth, the leading owner at the track last year and well on his way to retaining his title for 2008, bagged a 1-2 in the final of the 4 Home Superstores 550 Stakes final at Curraheen Park on Saturday.

He took the prize with Compass Seamus, who had a length and a half to spare over kennelmate Compass Rebecca in 30.16.

The winner missed the break in the semi-finals, but better drawn in trap one this time made no mistake. He took over from Belindas Agent at the second bend and stayed on well in the closing stages to see off Compass Rebecca, who was doing her best work at the finish.
