Superstores final 1-2 for Wadsworth
He took the prize with Compass Seamus, who had a length and a half to spare over kennelmate Compass Rebecca in 30.16.
The winner missed the break in the semi-finals, but better drawn in trap one this time made no mistake. He took over from Belindas Agent at the second bend and stayed on well in the closing stages to see off Compass Rebecca, who was doing her best work at the finish.
Black Apollo was fastest as the Heineken 575 Stakes kicked-off. Running in the opening heat Black Apollo, an even money favourite came right away in the closing stages for a seven and a half length win over Bold One in 21.05. The winner, owner trained by Denis Duggan in Cork, has now won three of his four starts.
Next best on the clock was the Owen McKenna trained Barnane Bliss in heat 2. The 6/4 favourite was quickly away, led at the opening bend and eventually had three and a half lengths to spare over Bookies Bandit in 31.26.
