GERMAN-BASED Tipperary show jumper Denis Lynch and Lantinus carried eight faults from qualifiers into yesterday’s grand prix at the four-star show in Bremen, Germany, but a double clear pushed them up to seventh place.

Britain’s Michael Whitaker took victory with an aggregate three-day total of three faults.

German-based Mayo rider Cameron Hanley, on SIEC Livello, finished 15th, notching up eight faults in the qualifiers and doubling the figure yesterday.

On the Spanish Sunshine Tour, Francis Connors rode John Murphy’s Merlin’s Magic to fourth place in yesterday’s grand prix, four-faulting in the second round. A place further back was Dave Quigley on Ashdale Futuro, though the Wexford rider won the Small Grand Prix on Sabatini on Saturday.

Cian O’Connor rode Splendour to second place in a 1.45m class yesterday, with former world champion Dermott Lennon also riding a double clear to finish fourth on Turboko.

Mark Kinsella claimed a weekend brace, riding Susan Wyse’s mare Gisele to victory in a Small Tour jump-off yesterday, while Kilkenny rider Ivan Dalton won a Big Tour two-phase on Friday with Contact, former ride of Conor Swail. Cheshire-based Corkman Billy Twomey placed fourth on Saturday in a Big Tour, four-faulting in a jump-off with Michael Connaughton’s Irish-bred mare Cavinem.
