Focused Egan leads Irish trio into battle

KENNETH EGAN and surprise packets Paddy Barnes and Eric Donovan provide an interesting blend of youth and experience in what will be all-out war for places in the top eight at the World Boxing Championships in Chicago.

All three will be in action tonight for the right to represent Ireland in Beijing and it will be surprising if at least one of the trio does not get through.

Kenneth Egan now finds himself just one fight away from a seat on that flight to China next summer.
