Promising pro McCloskey focused on taming ‘La Cobra’

PAUL McCLOSKEY will share the limelight with fellow Derryman, John Duddy, at the Hunky Dorys Fight Night in the National Stadium on October 20 and is confident that there will be a double celebration.

McCloskey, who was an outstanding amateur, has made an exciting transition to the pro-ranks. Like Duddy, he enjoys an unblemished record and, while Duddy tops the bill against former world title challenger Noe Tulio Gonzalez Alcoba from Uruguay, McCloskey also looks set for a stiff test of his championship credentials.

The classy Dungiven southpaw has been matched with Cristian “La Cobra” Frias in a 10-round light welterweight clash.
