SHORT route wins for the Walsh brothers, a successful re-launch for Neil Sinclair and first visits to the canvas for Paul McCloskey and Stephen Haughian resulted in thrill-a-minute entertainment for boxing fans at Cork City Hall on Saturday night.

Billy Walsh, topping the bill in only his third professional fight, stopped Moroslav Kubik from Bratislava 48 seconds into the third round of their scheduled six round welterweight contest.

A whirlwind start hinted at a first round stoppage, but when Kubik survived the two-fisted onslaught Walsh showed signs of fatigue in the second round, took a few big shots and suffered a nick to the side of his left eye.
