Electric can power home in semi-final
Pat Buckley’s prolific scorer bounced back from a below par second round run with a 28.19 effort last weekend.
At first glance Droopys Electric does not appear to have been done any favours by a four draw but it could actually work in his favour.
The inside pair, Moonveen Doyler and Disco Stu, are unlikely to do each other any favours on the run up while Westmead Iroko, in three, is likely to struggle early doors.
Likewise, defending champion and wide seed Tyrur Ted is unlikely to be at the forefront of the action early on.
In contrast, the five-dog Gnasher possesses early zip but could find it difficult to get around Droopys Electric at the corner.
Track record holder Ardkill Jamie could hold the key to a wide open second semi-final.
Paul Hennessy’s runner is likely to move inwards from a five draw and this could pave the way for lone wide seed Oran Premier.
This fellow hasn’t had his trapping boots on in recent weeks but is a pacey sort and could have the race run to suit.
Tyrur Brett and Tyrur Lee are respected but Oran Premier reads the percentage bet.
Final Show Down, who posted a 28.43 effort before bowing out in last weekend’s quarter-finals, can bounce back in heat two of the Cashmans Bookmakers Irish Laurels Purse. Johnnys Vision, also a quarter-final casualty, looks the part in heat one.
