World record for Isinbayeva

Yelena Isinbayeva broke the world pole vault record indoors and outdoors, as she easily cleared a height of 4.88m at the Norwich Union Grand Prix in Birmingham.

The Olympic champion easily added a centimetre to her winning height in Donetsk six days ago.

The Russian was in a class of her own and comfortably beat Svetlana Feofanova (4.70m) and Anna Rogowska (4.45m).

Kelly Holmes recorded the second fastest time in the world this year of two minutes 35.39 seconds in the 1000 metres.
