Foley finishes 31st in giant slalom
The Kenmare man had an aggregate time of 2:57:42 after his two runs, leaving him 22.42 seconds behind gold medallist Benjamin Raich of Austria.
Foley finished the first leg yesterday morning in 35th place, but his second run brought him up four places in the overall rankings.
Gold medal winner Raich came first after Francois Bourque of Canada, leader in the first leg, faltered. Frenchman Joel Chenal captured his first Olympic medal with silver, just 0.07 seconds behind Raich, and Austrian Hermann Maier added a bronze to the super-G silver he won on Saturday.
