Crescent play host to the Kate Russell

CRESCENT COLLEGE, Comprehensive, winners of the Coca-Cola Munster Schoolgirls Senior Hockey Cup for the first time this year, play host to the Kate Russell All-Ireland tournament tomorrow and Friday.

The Dooradoyle centre is sure to be a hive of activity over the two days and Crescent get the ball rolling with a 9.30am clash with Lurgan College.

Leinster will be represented by St Andrew’s College, Dublin; the Connacht standard-bearers will be Coláiste Iognáid, Galway, while Loreto Wexford carry South East hopes.

Thursday: 9.30 a.m. Lurgan College v Crescent College Comprehensive; 11.00 Loreto Wexford v St Andrews College; 12.30 pmLurgan College v Colaiste Iognaid; 2.00 pm Crescent College Comprehensive v St. Andrews College; 3.30 Colaiste Iognaid v Loreto Wexford.

Meanwhile, an intensive international hockey programme is being finalised by the Irish Senior Mens Management team. It will include approximately 20 international matches before the side departs for the European Nations Cup, starting on September 1 in Barcelona. After the completion of the Mens Interprovincal series in Cork, National Coach John Clarke has named a 28-strong panel for their panel session scheduled for March 29 and March 30 in Dublin.
