Connors’ invited to Challenge Tour

Letterkenny’s John Connors (17) has received a concession place from the World Snooker Association to compete on Professional Challenge Tour due to his performance in the IBSF World U21 snooker Championships in Carlow last month.

Connors’ invited to Challenge Tour

John, along with Adyita Metha (India), both reached the quarter finals and because all the other quarter-finalists were qualified for the Main Tour or Challenge Tour it meant the IBSF would have to nominate one of the players for its annual concession place.

The IBSF nominated both players and the WSA agreed to let both compete next year and try to qualify for a place on next years Main Tour.

The Irish Association had nominated 15 year-old Irish Champion David Morris for a Challenge Tour place but the WSA still refuse to break the minimum age rule of 16 even though David would be only underage for one ranking event.
