Injury-hit Aussies call up Clark for third Ashes test

The tourists, already reeling from their two-run defeat in the second Test at Edgbaston, could be without Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee for Thursday’s next contest at Old Trafford after they both suffered freak injuries. McGrath, man-of-the-match during Australia’s emphatic opening Test victory at Lord’s, was ruled out of the Edgbaston encounter on the morning of the match after treading on a cricket ball during the warm-up.

He was joined on the sidelines by Lee yesterday, who suffered an infection to his left knee and was admitted to hospital in Birmingham yesterday and is still rated at no more than 50-50 to be fit for Old Trafford.
