McHale out to spoil the party

FANS may be expecting a mouth watering all Cork final to the ESB Men's National Cup on Sunday but, with the Liam McHale driven Team Merry Monk from Ballina, all out to spoil the party and BurgerKing Limerick with little or nothing to lose, Neptune's Gordon Fitzgerald warned of the danger of a "no Cork" final.

Mardyke UCC Demons are the defending champions and, to many, slight favourites to retain the trophy they won for the second time last year while Neptune, four times winners of the trophy, are desperate to bridge a 12 year gap.

When Neptune last won the Cup in 1992 a youthful Gordon Fitzgerald was in his first season in national league basketball.
