Spike O'Sullivan: Steven Cairns and Craig O'Brien can continue run of underdog wins in Dublin's northside

There’s no sport without family. And there’s no family without sport. Mayo’s win felt like an ultimate reminder of that. I’ll be pointing the car for Dublin on Saturday afternoon for the exact same reason.

We’re getting the windows done here next week. Knocking out a bit of brick either side of the kitchen one to broaden the horizons. Seeing as I now apparently spend half my life cooking, the extra light’ll come in handy.

It’s been a big week for wider perspective in Irish sport, even Irish life. The half of my life outside of the kitchen is spent down at the Barrs clubhouse, picking up my son Tommy from training, dropping off my daughter Ashley to a match, helping out a coach, chatting to a selector, digesting a loss, looking forward to a win, manifesting another pot or pan to throw on a shelf inside in the clubhouse.
