Ronan O'Gara: If I’m Clayton McMillan, I’m not letting Peter O'Mahony walk without a chat

Tawera Kerr-Barlow got the curly finger into my office after training Thursday. Not for a chat about the put-in, but for a dig out with this column. T’s path didn’t properly cross with Clayton McMillan’s at the Chiefs, but he sat in on a few meetings Munster’s new bossman took and is well enough wired into the Hamilton network to get a good read.
He had only good to say. Big on culture, was his nutshell take. A no-nonsense ex-cop. A Maori who knows what he wants and delivers clear messages. The Chiefs’ culture had drifted a touch from their core values before he took that head coach job, T felt. And McMillan got it right back on track. Though word had got round the last six months he was ready for the next challenge.
