The catering firm said that the issue was brought on by “technical failures” at its beer taps – however a number of staff told us that the problems were due to not enough staff being on duty for the ‘sold out’ game.

The Aviva Stadium’s hospitality provider has apologised to supporters for extraordinary chaos in bar areas at the venue during last Saturday’s Republic of Ireland v England UEFA Nations League clash.

In a statement to The Pitch, Levy Ireland said it was sorry for the disruption, in which customers waited in queues of up to thirty deep as servers struggled to keep up with demand, and as large sections of bars remained unopened.
