Anthony Daly: Six days of pain a lot better than 10 months

When I think back to my worst days on the hurling field, the 1993 Munster final is at the top of that list. It was bad enough to be annihilated by Tipperary in the Gaelic Grounds, but my own personal performance added to the pain. I was at nothing. I made a holy show of myself.
We had to wait 10 months to get some form of closure on that day, which we did in the 1994 Munster quarter-final, but I would have given anything for that match to be played the following Sunday. Beating Tipp a year after such a public humiliation was one of the highlights of my career but it was also nearly a long walk to madness considering the wait involved to get another crack at them.
