John Riordan: Could Aaron Rodgers' season-ending injury been prevented on a grass field?

It sparked the reignition of a frustration of NFL players and the union that represents them who have been urging a return to grass fields from the astroturf on which many of them play.

I don't think I've ever seen a sports injury replayed over and over again so often and in such a short space of time.

It got worse when the camera technology which watches every NFL player’s move allowed us in for a closer look at Aaron Rodgers’ achilles tendon snapping and twanging like a guitar string.
