A cool-headed clear from Greg Broderick on MHS Going Global last night ensured Ireland scraped through to tomorrow’s €1.5m Furusiyya Series final in Barcelona, Spain.

The low-scoring contest saw Robert Splaine’s team, that also included Shane Breen, Darragh Kenny, and Denis Lynch, finish on eight faults to be among eight of the 18 countries to progress to the final, in which countries start on a zero score.

Ireland shared seventh place with the Netherlands, but there was heartbreak for Brazil, who also finished on eight faults, but missed out as the team’s combined time was slower.
