Where are the outstanding teams and young players in this mediocre Euro 2016?

With three games to go at Euro 2016, I find myself still scratching my head and looking in vain for the outstanding team which deserves to win this tournament.

So far there hasn’t been an exceptional side nor have there been command performances from any of the so-called star players.

And aside from Renato Sanches, Portugal’s exciting youngster, and Joshua Kimmich, who has done well for Germany, there has also been a dearth of the kind of new talent which would make you feel you’re watching the emergence of a superstar of the future.
