Super Saturday can’t mask Pro12 issues

Over 5,000 points have been recorded in 17 different stadiums ranging from the tiny Meggetland Sports Complex in Edinburgh, where the locals hosted Leinster in round one on account of a Foo Fighters gig in Murrayfield, to the space-age construction that is the Aviva Stadium.

Seven TV stations have captured most of the footage that matters although the heavy hand that broadcasting places on modern sports has been evident in this season’s Guinness Pro12 by virtue of the fact that spectators have had to endure 18 different kick-off times across three different days of the week. It wasn’t until February and round 15 until they ceased coming up with new time slots.
