An Olympics of lies and deceit

Next year the Olympics is taking place in Rio, as you are no doubt aware. Are you looking forward to the event? Should you be?

It’s hard to raise much enthusiasm for the entire circus. For me the reason isn’t the recent drug shenanigans that have been uncovered, but a little more personal.

When I was a small boy and just taking an interest in these matters, we had a book by Ron Pickering in our house about the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal, which was the Olympics then on the horizon.
