Éamon Bowen secured the last semi-final place in the Hurley’s of Midleton King of the Roads with a clear win over Aidan Murphy in the Mick Barry Cup final at Ballincurrig on Sunday.

He beat Murphy’s opening shot by 80m, but Murphy had that clipped back to just 10m after two more past the black sign.

It was the same after the next exchange, but Bowen pushed clear again with his bowl past the creamery. Murphy then missed the no-play line and Bowen beat it. Murphy went well past the play line with his seventh.
