Three lessons learnt in Thurles as Waterford’s goalden touch proves key

Waterford were the better team overall and had the capacity to score goals at crucial times. They scored three but it might have been more. At the other end Cork failed miserably in this regard.
Only Conor Lehane succeeded in exposing the Waterford defence, winning a penalty with a strong run near the end, although in the tenth minute Patrick Horgan should have released Alan Cadogan instead of shooting himself.
