Can Hollywood do justice to Jackie Robinson?

At first the words seemed to trip nonchalantly from the mouth of Walter ‘Clyde’ Frazier, a basketball analyst for whom loquaciousness is a job description.

“I still believe that if not for sports, the (American) south would be segregated.”

Then the audience seemed to gasp in unison as they suddenly realised that not only was the New York Knicks legend serious but that his softly spoken nature (and his spring green suit) belied the unimaginable steel forged by a life lived in segregation and subsequently adulation.
