Aidan Murphy became the first holder of the Jim Geasley Cup when he beat Edmond Sexton in the last shot at Cobh on Sunday.

Murphy dominated the first half of the score, but Sexton was to the fore in the second half and will be deeply disappointed that this one got away from him.

Murphy opened with a massive shot which gave him the first tip by 35m. Neither player got a good second to Bird Hill, but Murphy held his odds. He won each of the next four shots to Durkin’s boreen. They were at the top of Durkin’s hill in another throw, with Murphy still seven metres fore.
