Twohig continues excellent vein of form

Gavin Twohig got the first win in the renewal of the Connie Killarney Cup at Skibbereen on Sunday when he beat Donal Riordan by over two bowls.

Twohig continues excellent vein of form

Riordan started well and was 70m in front after three shots past the industrial estate. He had a chance of making the quarry gate in two to increase his lead, but he lost that chance when he played his next bowl too wide. They were level at the top of the quarry hill.

Twohig then changed the score dramatically with brilliant bowls to the steps. After Riordan made a mistake with his shot down the quarry hill things unravelled as he took three more to make the steps. Any hope of a comeback were quickly quashed by Twohig who followed with two more brilliant bowls to Ballyhilty corner where he was almost three bowls in front.
