SEAMUS Ó TUAMA: Sexton edges out Bowen in thriller

Bowen got the better of two great opening bowls by five metres and took the second by similar odds. His third was a tremendous loft, which pushed his lead to 50m and gave him a chance to make the wall in four, but he misplayed that bowl and Sexton levelled again.

Sexton got a good bowl around the next bend to take his first lead. He followed with two good bowls towards Sarsfields Court cross to extend it to 60m. Bowen clipped that to 20m with his next to the green and regained the lead with his following shot. Sexton went back in front after the shots around the next bend.
