Rory and JP the perfect combination

It is little more than 18 months since JP Fitzgerald was vilified for his perceived part in Rory McIlroy’s meltdown in the final round of the Masters.

Later in 2011, his name was dragged through the mud by an American commentator who campaigned long and hard for Fitzgerald’s dismissal.

But McIlroy stood by his man.
