In the last 10 minutes of yesterday’s All-Ireland final replay, Henry Shefflin went into the corner.

He had his work done by then, but when TJ Reid at wing-forward hurt his leg late on it was Shefflin who swapped places with him.

Even with a double-digit lead Shefflin’s workrate didn’t dip. He won a ball on 71 minutes that he fed to Richie Power for a point attempt that just pulled wide. Still busy tackling, hooking, harrying. A God of small things.
