Wily Waterford had heroes all over field

The greatest pity about this game in Semple Stadium yesterday — and I make no apology to anyone for hitting on this point again — is that there were only 12,000 there to see it.

Wily Waterford had heroes all over field

And this was on a beautiful day for hurling. People talk about recessions and everything else, and I do think the tickets were overpriced, but if we can have over 20,000 people travelling to Poland for a week to see a very average team play in the European finals, surely you should have more than 12,000 travelling a few miles up the road to follow their teams in the Munster SHC?

Especially Waterford, who have given such value to their supporters in Munster over the last 10 years and more. Do we know what we have on our doorstep, do we appreciate enough the value of occasions such as we had in Thurles yesterday?
