There was Jim Montgomery’s miraculous save, surely ahead of Banks’ claw-out three years earlier, and audacious dives from Allan Clarke and Billy Bremner, rather giving the lie to Gary Neville’s recent loud insistence that foreigners seeded that practice in England.
