Dejected Dublin fall foul of their own lack of discipline

TO the victor the spoils, and the label of showing ‘bottle’, but Cork’s stuttering march to next month’s final owes most to Dublin’s utter lack of composure – and it would be a foolish Rebel who would view this triumph in any other light.

Indeed, if a tagline applies to Cork’s campaign thus far, it might well be “little enough done, a lot more to do“, as they seem incapable of playing with any kind of sustained fluency this season.

As Albert Reynolds observed, it’s the little things that trip you up, and so it was for Dublin yesterday, as their second-half ‘tackling’ was woefully imprecise.
