Thurles now a two-day fixture
The new date is February 26 and, as there is already a scheduled meeting at Thurles on Thursday February 25, it will now be a two day fixture and there will be a revised programme of races for both days.
The revised programme for the meetings will be announced at a later date.
Meanwhile, officials at Newbury are extremely optimistic their valuable meeting tomorrow will go ahead.
The fixture features the totesport Trophy Hurdle as well as the expected reappearance of Denman and Master Minded.
Covers have protected the track from frost and will only be removed tomorrow morning.
“Everything’s fine at the moment. We went down to about minus 2C last night but the temperature rose a bit later. The covers have kept the frost out,” said clerk of the course Richard Osgood. “There is no inspection planned.”
Warwick are also protecting the course from the cold and that is doing the trick, with the track reported as being raceable for tomorrow.
Ayr were due to race today and tomorrow but today’s meeting has already been lost following a midday inspection yesterday.
Course officials have announced a 3.30pm inspection today ahead of tomorrow’s fixture.
Kempton may also call a precautionary inspection after getting an updated weather forecast.
There are no problems at today’s other jumps card at Bangor.
