LIAM, what about all the furore surrounding Phil Brown's future at Hull City? The poor man is under terrible scrutiny. Just over five years ago Hull were playing in the fourth tier of English football. Phil guided them to the Premier League for the first time in their history and kept them up at the first attempt.
This is a remarkable achievement although it was slightly undermined by their freefall after Christmas. Nevertheless, Phil should be commended for what he has done at Hull.
At the moment there is constant media speculation and unrest among fans about his future. It seems to me that today's football people are far too over demanding of their players, managers and chairman's. I think it's time for Hull supporters to realise what league their team is playing in and be content with it, and to the new Hull chairman, Mr Pearson, spare Phil Brown, he's doing a great job.
