Provincial structure not under threat

MUNSTER Council chairman, Jimmy O’Gorman, admitted he was “very worried” in this newspaper last week that proposals might come from on high in Croke Park to eliminate provincial championships.

Fear not, Jimmy, that’s not going to happen.

Even as late as the Special Congress a fortnight ago, GAA chiefs were at pains to explain that any future hurling proposals would be drawn up following a “full consultative process”.
