Angry Fans

OUR football correspondent LIAM MACKEY is back in top form and full of energy.

He casts his eye over all  your comments and gives his own critical analysis of the goings on throughout the world of football. You may agrewith him or then again you may not.

This week the subjects include: Ireland’s performance against the Italians; seeding  that helps France and Portugal?;  England and Steven Gerard and Wayne Rooney; Where to next for Robinho; Capello’s plodders on the internet;  Heskey and Aston Villa and the World Cup; soccer DNA; Maradona miracles;  Ferguson and his apology and the awakening of Manchester United?

The Letter of the Week goes to  Liam Baker, West Cork.  Get in touch with your postal address and our magnificent prize will be winging its way to you before you know it.

YOU FEEL that performance against the Italians will set us up nicely for the two-legged play off next month and that Trap will be happy with a point from the game. The question is whether he rewards Andy Reid's good form of late with a recall to the squad for the play- offs. Not at all surprised that FIFA changed the goalposts again as regards the format for the play-offs. However we should remain upbeat and optimistic.

OUR SHOUT: Um, well, yes. Except that we want Greece in the play-offs, don't we?
