Drying-out Listowel gets the go-ahead

LISTOWEL has been given the green light to begin their seven-day Festival on Sunday.

The track, which was unfit for racing earlier in the week, was inspected yesterday by Turf Club senior inspector of courses, Val O’Connell. The decision was made that, while the ground remains heavy, the track is drying out rapidly and the likelihood is that it will be soft come Sunday.

Both Sunday and Monday will be all National Hunt programmes, while the emphasis on Tuesday will now be totally on the flat.
