That seems to be the most logical explanation for the defeat of Lillie Langtry in Sunday’s Group 1 Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh.

All the indications, prior to the race, were that she would handle the surface. Mind you, there was no evidence in the form book, the most reliable yardstick of all, of course, but it was simply the volume of money there was for the filly.
