Lane’s turn may finally have arrived

BLUE Ridge Lane’s turn may finally have arrived in the Hook Head Maiden at Wexford this evening.

The colt was fitted with cheekpieces for the first time at Ballinrobe last month, but they seemed to do more harm than good! He certainly didn’t handle the sharp bends very well and, not surprisingly, they are now regarded as surplus to requirements.

In any case, that Ballinrobe contest is working out quite nicely. The selection could never get to the all-the-way winner, Loch Long, finishing two and a half lengths second.
