It says something about Manchester United that Marcus Rashford leaving the club and joining Barcelona feels like escaping the madhouse.

Barcelona, remember, can’t even promise Rashford they’ll have him registered as a player in time for their opening match of the season, away to Mallorca. Under La Liga rules, Barca’s perilous finances mean they couldn’t get him and fellow new signing Joan Garcia added to the squad without deregistering club captain Marc Andre Ter Stegen.
