Of all the Champions’ Cup survivors, only one would dare give the English Premiership leaders a 14-point start and still knock them out a long way inside the distance.
Leinster may have managed to lose more European finals in five years than Real Madrid in the last 70 but that ought not to obscure another fact; that when it comes to winning in Europe’s premier club tournament nobody has done so more consistently over the last seven years than Ireland’s team for all seasons.
