Patrick Horgan: Is it time to ask will Kilkenny emerge from Leinster this year?

The big headline was in Salthill this weekend where Galway beat the Cats by 18 points and scored 0-35 in doing so.

I wrote here Saturday about Limerick’s system, and it was the difference again for them against Cork in the Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick had a more experienced team out than their opponents, and to be fair to Cork they put it up to them for 50-odd minutes, but Limerick’s faith in that system paid off. They play to it for the 70, 75 minutes, or however long the game lasts, and when they got the chance Saturday they put up 2-5 without reply and killed the game off. One of the benefits they’ll get from the win is more faith in that system - if that were needed.
