I was doing co-commentary on RTÉ Radio One on Saturday in Ennis and with the Ulster final such a tight affair, the coverage cut back to Clones just after Mark Rodgers levelled the match in the 62nd minute.

Liam Aherne, who was doing commentary, turned to me while off-air and said, ‘Dalo, ye will win it now.’ I wasn’t sure. ‘There are going to be big moments in this game yet Liam,’ I replied. There were. And it was Tipp who had them.
